Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) is set to deliver the commencement address at a Washington state high school.
The one-time Republican vice presidential hopeful will speak to Republic High School’s class of 2013 — made up of just 27 students — on June 1, according to the AP.
Tyler Weyer, one of the graduating seniors, started a social media campaign last fall to convince Palin to speak at the school’s graduation.
“I said, ‘Hey, let’s just get Sarah Palin,’ ” Weyer told the Spokesman-Review, noting that Republic’s commencement speaker is typically a standout teacher or
